Seven months ago I became a grandparent to my first grandson- Elliot Asquith. He even has his own blog- elliotasquith.blogspot.com. Some things have obviously really changed from the days when I spent time with my grandparents, but many things are the same .
The joy of getting Elliot to smile when I sing (or try to sing to him) , carrying him around and making him laugh and , of course feeding him all that delicious baby food (see picture above). I can still change diapers like a pro although Elliot doesn't seem to appreciate my expertise. Of course, when he gets cranky toward the end of the day, I can look forward to my daughter or son-in-law picking him up and taking him home!! Then my wife and I can leave for a quiet dinner out.-- That is the real pleasure of being a grandparent!!
