lumineers are cool!!!

If you have been watching TV or reading magazines, you probably have seen ads for Lumineers. Lumineers are a "contact lens thin" veneer which can change your smile with no pain, little to no drilling and no shots. You don't even need temporaries. IF they are done correctly, they can look great, and be healthy to your teeth and gums. If they are not done right, they can appear bulky and feel too big. I have found that for many patients, lumineers can and do work wonderfully. If your teeth already sit too far forward or have significant overlap (dental crowding), lumineers usually don't work. They are very strong and if done properly will give you many years of use.

Having your bite evaluated and adjusted, if necessary adds significantly to the longevity of these veneers. I recently completed a 3 day seminar in Seattle by Dr. John Kois- one of the national leaders in dental education regarding occlusion- or the way the teeth hit during chewing. Even after 30 years of practice I am still learning the finer points of occlusion. You actually can teach an old dog new tricks. -- Dr. G

Hello Doctor,

I am thinking about this lumineer for my front teeth. I've fluorosis on my teeth as a result I've some white opaque spots and yellow spots. I'd one such yellow spot on my front tooth. So, I did cosmetic bonding on it. But it didn't last. The dentist who did reduced my front teeth enamel. As a result they are bit yellowish while other teeth are white with spots on some. I want to fix this discoloration by lumineers as my teeth are perfect in shape with no distortion and already the enamel has been reduced. My question is can a lumineer be produced to match my other teeth color(flurosis ones). I don't want to fix lumineer in all my front teeth six in total after my previous experience. How much it would cost me here in Cincinnati

It's hard to tell if lumineers could be used to match imperfections in neighboring teeth. Why don't you call my office at 513 793 2611 and come in for a free consult.- Dr. G.
